Our Commodity and Energy Trading practice is looking for individuals at all levels of experience to join our newest office in Copenhagen.

Our commodities and energy trading focused team operates across all major commodities, including oil, metals and agriculture. It’s an exciting area to work in where the level and scale of investment has accelerated materially in the recent past in line with macro market factors. We continue to see significant investment from both new market entrants and existing players as they move into or expand their capabilities into different markets.

We work with clients to help them to translate strategy into action, to enter new markets, build new capabilities, and to revolutionize their trading businesses and IT landscapes. We’re looking for people to join our growing team in Denmark who have a passion for commodities trading and for collaborating with clients face to face to help solve their key challenges. You'll be involved in strategically significant client transformation projects, across Scandinavia and Europe, with opportunities to work on global initiatives. 

What you will be doing

From designing target operating models to implementing integrated trading systems. Here are some examples of projects we typically get involved in:

  • Trading systems transformations: Implementations, upgrades and system selections for market leading trading organisations including new and innovative products. 
  • Business restructuring: Designing and implementing operating models for complex global organisations that cover the full trading and commodity lifecycle.
  • Digital Transformation: Working with clients to mature their digital capabilities and embed ML and AI into their architectures, including improving commercial decision making and the trader decision support tooling in use. 
  • Your skills and experience

    We’re looking for people across all different levels of experience, from senior consultants with a few years under the belt to experienced senior managers and directors with several years of project delivery experience.

    A well-rounded candidate should demonstrate a balance of strengths across three key areas:

  • Trading Knowledge: Expertise in bulk commodities trading markets, with a strong understanding of at least one of the following markets: oil, gas, LNG or renewable fuels. Candidates should have a clear understanding of trading processes, market dynamics, and industry trends. 
  • Business Analyst Skills: Proven ability to analyze and shape business processes and solutions. This includes identifying and capturing business problems, understanding value drivers, and defining both functional and non-functional requirements to deliver impactful solutions. 
  • Project Delivery Skills: A strong track record of managing and delivering projects across their full lifecycle, from inception to completion. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability and effectiveness in various roles within the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Additionally, we value candidates with expertise in: 

  • Digital Transformation: Experience in the development and delivery of digital trading consulting capabilities, including data-driven trading. 
  • Data Strategy and Management: Strong skills in developing and implementing data strategies, including data architecture, governance, and changes to data operations management to accelerate insight discovery and enable better decision-making. 
  • As a consulting firm, we offer client-facing roles, which require candidates to thrive in dynamic environments and build strong relationships. For senior positions, we also expect: 

  • Project/Program Management: Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects or programs, including managing cross-functional teams, timelines, and budgets, using methodologies such as Agile. 
  • Leadership and Client Ownership: The ability to take ownership of client relationships, deliver results in client-facing environments, and effectively manage senior stakeholders.
