EGB is a multidisciplinary department that conducts high-quality research in the fields of international business and political science with direct relevance to business, policymakers, and the public. Research at the department focuses on two principal focus areas Business & Government and International Business, in relation to societal challenges. These challenges include the consequences of inequality; the impact of technological change and digital transformation; the ethical dilemmas facing MNEs, regulating societal challenges, the changes brought about by emerging markets and the rise of Asia; the consequences of global shifts for public policy, and the relationship between business and democracy.

Much of EGB’s teaching is affiliated with the BSc/MSc in International Business and Politics (IBP); the BSc/MSc in International Business (IB); and the BSc in International Business in Asia (IBA).

The postdoc is to be recruited for the project funded by the Spar Nord Foundation entitled: Managing the paradox of diversity: A research based immersive virtual reality approach.

This project provides a research-based approach to managing the paradox of diversity in Danish organisations. By applying a multi-level multi-disciplinary approach to managing diversity, it offers a systemic view of equity and inclusion within and across levels of analysis; it proposes interventions and evaluations of their short-term and long-term results in leading Danish business organisations. By utilising advances in virtual reality (VR) technology and immersive learning, it offers novel and impactful ways to change behavior, create systemic change and increase equity, diversity and inclusion.

The postdoc is a non-tenured position for a 3-year period with teaching obligation of 33,33%. The teaching also involves a teaching qualification programme, HETEP, which is useful for future placement.

To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Department.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have completed a PhD from a reputable research institution and demonstrated excellence in research, strong quantitative skills, knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and some practical experience.

No prior experience with VR is needed.

Emphasis is placed on research relevant to the job description.

The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Recruitment procedure
The Recruitment Committee will shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by the Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.

The applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment.

Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
