Department of Chemistry
Faculty of Science University of Copenhagen This 2-year postdoc position is at the interphase between organic chemistry and physical organic chemistry. The work will involve a combination of synthetic organic chemistry and host-guest chemistry studies. The project is funded by the Novo Nordisk NERD program under the title ’frustrated water in molecular recognition’. One goal in this project is to identify and prepare new synthetic receptor molecules that enable systematic studies of the role of high-energy water in molecular recognition processes.
A strong candidate for this position has extensive experience with (organic) synthesis and may also have experience with supramolecular chemistry and/or physical organic chemistry. It is an advantage for candidates to have experience with spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV-Vis, fluorescence spectroscopy), ITC, MS, organic electrochemistry and X-ray diffraction of single crystals.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within organic chemistry as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
