Faculty of Science University of Copenhagen The Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering a two-year post doc position in condensed matter theory commencing February 1st 2025 and no later than March 1st 2025. The post doc is expected to work on timely research topics of magnetism and superconductivity in close collaboration with the research group of Prof. Brian M. Andersen.
Description of the scientific environment The project will be funded by a grant from the VILLUM FOUNDATION through a The Villum Experiment Programme. The post doc project will be centered on theoretical studies of altermagnets, odd-parity magnetism, and their interplay with unconventional superconductivity. The position is embedded in the larger condensed matter theory group at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. Significant collaboration is expected to take place with local people at NBI, including e.g K. Flensberg, P. Hedegård, K. Lefmann, J. Paaske,, and international collaborators, and experimental condensed matter physics groups.
Current research groups at NBI in the field include the condensed matter theory group (
cmt.nbi.ku.dk), x-ray and neutron sciences (
nbi.ku.dk/english/research/condensed-matter-physics/xns/), and the Center for Quantum Devices (
qdev.dk). Other divisions at the Institute include quantum optics, astrophysics, biophysics, geophysics, and particle physics.
The post doc’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication. There are no formal obligations to teach. The post may also include performance of other duties.
