Are you passionate about molecular biology and in vitro research? Do you want to make a meaningful contribution to translational science in metabolism and metabolic diseases?
We are looking for a motivated person to join Nicolai J. Wewer Albrechtsen’s research group at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Bispebjerg Hospital. You will collaborate closely with preclinical and clinical research teams to strengthen and expand our translational research. This is a 1-year position starting March 1, 2025 (or as agreed), with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and conduct molecular biological and in vitro cell studies.
- Optimize and implement techniques in the lab, such as site-directed mutagenesis, in vitro cell assays, in situ hybridization, and immunohistochemistry.
- Lead an independent research project and contribute to collaborations in the team.
- Engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations within the department and with external partners.

What We Expect - A relevant masters’ degree (e.g., molecular biology or a related field)
- PhD or substantial experience in in vitro biology and cell models
- Hands-on experience with several of the following:
- Cell lines and primary cells
- PCR and site-directed mutagenesis
- Competent cell preparation
- Transfections, overexpression, and siRNA-mediated knockdown
- Pharmacological receptor binding/activity assessments
- In situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry
- Additional experience with the following is an advantage:
- In vivo or in vitro animal studies
- FELASA certificate
- Strong communication skills
About the Department The Department of Clinical Biochemistry provides 24/7 service to Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospitals, as well as general practitioners, specialists, psychiatry, and private hospitals. We process over 10.5 million tests annually and are based in state-of-the-art facilities since 2020. With 140 dedicated staff members, including 80 bioanalysts, we thrive on teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and innovation.
