Product Technology Specialist – polymer and extrusion for packaging solutions

The position:

As Product Technology Specialist Polymers and extrusion with reference to the Technical Director you will be responsible for the product and process development within the most important segment of the company, tandem extrusion lamination and coating. You will also work with technologies like adhesive lamination printing and converting. You will be a member of the team responsible for optimizing the production process’. The role, in collaboration with the R&D team, involves to supporting the regulatory affairs function by managing customer-related documentation and ensuring compliance with packaging regulations.

You will be a part of a team consisting of 5 people within R&D, product optimisation and regulatory affairs in an informal environment and with high focus on a positive atmosphere with a large degree of independence. On a daily basis you will have contact and coordination with other departments within the company and on Group level.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Being the expert and front runner within the core competence of the company – extrusion lamination and coating.
• Responsible for development projects focusing on extrusion and defining of new product specifications.
• Acting as project manager and project member in R&D and improvement projects on products and production process’.
• Planning, performing and documenting trial runs on pilot and production machine.
• Leverage your chemistry expertise to support the regulatory affairs function, ensuring compliance with relevant foodf and environmental legislation.
• Risk management of new raw materials, products and process’ in cooperation with purchasing dept., production, QC and QA.

 

You will be involved in many tasks within the company, e.g.: Support on IP documentation, corrective and preventive actions, claim handling with QA, trouble shooting in production and with customers. You will work with and manage own R&D projects with hig focus on sustainability as a key topic. You must ensure that yourself and your department has the right skills within product and process development where sustainability is essential internally and together with the Group R&D.

About you:

• You have a master degree in chemical engineering focusing on organic chemistry and is experienced with polymers.
• You are experienced with extrusion coating and lamination or similar knowledge obtained in film extrusion or injection moulding industry.
• Has experience with regulatory affairs, food and environmental legislation for packaging materials and can engage in dialogue with suppliers and customers on these matters.
• You can multitask and work on several projects at the same time,. You like to work in a dynamic organization and on your own prioritize both own tasks as well as emergencies.
• You do automatically take the lead and the project manager responsibility. You can document these skills.

 

You can absorb information’s and implement this. You have analytical skills and likes to work in cross functional teams. You are a team player with a positive attitude with good communication skills in English and preferably also in Danish/Scandinavian language both in writing and verbally.
