THE ROLE
We are looking for a Project Engineer with a passion for designing and building test setups. In this role you will lead and support the entire lifecycle of experimental setups and molten salt loops, from initial design to decommissioning. You will be part of a dynamic prototyping team where you will have the chance to do both design work and hands-on activities on cutting-edge technology. Your contributions will directly impact materials qualifications, component selection, and validation of design solutions of the molten salt reactor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Plan, design, and fabricate custom test rigs at different scales, in collaboration with a cross-functional engineering team.
Select and integrate together standard components like pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
Manage the procurement of components and suppliers’ relationships.
Oversee and help with the assembly, commissioning, and operations of the test setups.
Manage project timelines, budget, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain detailed documentation of design activities, project deliverables, and test findings.
Troubleshoot design and performance issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company safety and quality requirements.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar fields.
You have 3+ years of experience in the industrial sector or applied research, product development, and prototyping.
You have experience with flow system development, including design and procurement of standard components like pumps, valves, piping, heat exchanges, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
You have hands-on experience with different types of fabrication methods and their application.
You can manage projects effectively, including planning, scheduling, communication, and resource allocation.
Familiarity with CAD software and simulation tools. Previous use of SolidWorks is a plus.
Experience with molten salts or high temperature systems is an advantage.
