Your Role: Make an Impact

In this role, you will be part of our Purchase & Logistics Agency team spread across Copenhagen, Mumbai, London, Manila & Houston as well as our wider team which is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. You will collaborate with peers across continents servicing our global fleet of product tanker vessels, working especially close with our vessel management teams.

Dynamism is expected in this position which fundamentally is led by an excellent understanding and knowledge of the Total Cost of Ownership principle. The primary role is to ensure the successful day-to-day running of our fleet, with the great opportunity to shape the operational world.  

Key Responsibilities

• Comfortable with responsibility for the supply chain from requisition to final delivery, specifically the required quality, timing and optimum cost.
• Make high level planning and prioritization.
• Determining the optimal supply for the spares and stores.
• Logistics forwarding and planning.
• Handling of suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements.
• Multitasking and be connected like a “spider in the web”
• Operational purchasing – ensuring our TORM catalogue is used wherever possible.
• Internal education of our crew and office staff, ensuring that all understand their roles and responsibilities within the operational supply chain.

Your Profile

We’re looking for a Purchasing & Logistics professional who thrives in a global, collaborative environment and can bring technical expertise to the team. Someone who has an excellent track record of accomplishments in the purchasing department, a knack and enjoyment for the operational part of the job, and an equal competence and flair for logistics and forwarding. 

To succeed in this role, you bring

• At least five years of experience within purchasing and supply chain as well as experience with negotiation and project management.
• Knowledge from the shipping or transportation industry combined with a technical interest and background.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost and reliability.
• Financial understanding to assess the total cost of dealing with a supplier, including price and factors such as the costs of delivery, administration quality control and inventory.
• Willingness to conduct business travel as and when required.
• Strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build effective working relationships with supply partners and just as importantly internal stakeholders across business units and continents.
