QHSE Excellence Lead

As our QHSE Excellence Lead you will be responsible for functionally leading a team of 4 Process owners to ensure that the operational Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Sustainability and Security (QHSE) landscape across the business is developed and maintained in line with the BA Wind strategic direction and ambition.

Besides that, as QHSE Excellence Lead you are responsible for the implementation of the Operational Integrated Management System in QHSE. The QHSE Excellence Lead will lead continuous improvement projects, and be required to collaborate across the business to ensure alignment of resources and availability to drive the program.

In this role you will report to the Head of Operational Standards and will be part of the People Culture and Standards staff functions within Business Area Wind.

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead the Operational Standard Excellence team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operation of the management system in line with the PDCA principles
• Manage continuous improvement projects in line with strategic objectives
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the BA Wind, Operational QHSE Integrated Management System in line with the overarching processes and governance
• Drive knowledge and experience sharing and development of project management methods and methodology
• Represent Operational QHSE in continuous improvement projects, internally and externally
• Actively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to enable excellent QHSE performance.

• Internal:
  • Operational Standards team
  • Integrated Management System & Process Governance Department
  • People, Culture and Standards Organisation Function Heads and their respective departments
  • BA Wind Business Units; Solar & Battery, Offshore Wind and Onshore Wind, especially the Business and Process Excellence teams
  • Vattenfall group Business excellence teams
  • Vattenfall Internal Auditors

• External:
  • Industry bodies (e.g. G+, SafetyOn, 3rd party auditors, etc);
  • Other wind and/or renewables developers

Location:

The group of 12 direct colleagues is organised internationally; the employees are located across all our core operating countries in the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, UK and Sweden. Therefore it is possible to join the team in our offices in Amsterdam, Kolding, Hamburg, Berlin, Hexham, London or Stockholm.

Your profile 
You will feel comfortable quickly in this position when you bring:

• Academic degree in engineering, business, economics or other equivalent educational background
• 10 years work experience, whereof at least 5 years’ experience leading projects in QHSE
• Management or in portfolio/program management, 2 years of which in responsible leading positions
• Extensive expertise in the technical project environment where the development of integrated processes and procedures i.a.w. ISO9001 and other associated management systems standards is crucial
• Experience in the development and application of various Project Management models and tools
• Fluent in English
• Excellent collaboration skills and appreciating Vattenfall’s principles; Active, Open, Positive and Safe.
