At Jabra’s System Verification department, we have built a solid and qualified group of teams that excel in evaluating our solutions with quantitative research methods.
With this position, our goal is to focus on qualitative methods for formative, evaluative, and summative research around our Audio-Video products and solutions, especially in the context of Early Adopters Testing, to complement our existing test and verification activities.
We are looking for a Qualitative Evaluation Engineer with a focus on Audio-Video hardware and software solutions, to assist bring to light challenges and suggest improvements to our products, and to assess the performance and impact of our solutions with a user-centric approach.
Although this position is focused on qualitative methods, experience in applying quantitative methods is also relevant and would be a positive attribute.
The team you will be part of
The System Verification department is organized of several teams with the common goals of testing, verifying, and informing design decisions for our Audio-Video products:
The Design Verification Test (DVT) team focuses on instrumental lab measurements;
The Perceptual Evaluation Team focuses on controlled subjective measurements and human perception;
The Early Adopters Test team focuses on user-testing and collecting open feedback on issues and improvement suggestions.
All teams run on highly optimized and modern automated workflows, where we aim to focus our time on the specialized work and not on administrative tasks.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
Address user behaviour and attitudes by designing hypotheses and leading studies/experiments
Support cross-functional stakeholders at all stages of product testing with guidance on investigation needs and study design
Apply a wide variety of direct qualitative data collection methods, such as surveys and interviews
Conduct objective data analysis using qualitative research methods supported by statistical principles
Generate and communicate results/insights that both inform and evaluate product design
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:
Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in human behaviour and/or Engineering related fields (Experimental Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Sociology, Human Factors Engineering, Data Science, HCI, etc.)
Skilled in developing and implementing research plans including formulation of research hypotheses
Experience with a range of qualitative data collection methods (direct and indirect) including but not limited to:
Direct methods like interviews, surveys, focus groups, contextual inquiry, and diary studies
Indirect methods like text mining and document analysis
Ability to translate and communicate complex research results and insights to cross-functional stakeholders in an approachable way with focused presentation slides and data storytelling
Additional qualifications that could be beneficial for this role can include:
Proficient in conducting mixed-methods research that integrates both qualitative and quantitative approaches)
Experience using Natural Language Processing techniques like LLMs for sentiment analysis and pattern identification in large datasets
Visual storytelling and data visualization
Ability to contribute to and draw from objective and perceptual testing when relevant
Interest in Audio and/or Video processing, products, or technologies
