You will play an important role in:

• Achieving our ambitious emission and decarbonization targets.
• Ensuring that our engines have state of the art emission reduction systems.

Your responsbilities will include: 

• Overseeing EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) throughout its lifecycle.
• Coordinating tasks and projects related to the continuous improvement of EGR.
• Leading development of the EGR water scrubber process.
• Communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers.

A typical week includes internal and external meetings where you will play a key role. You will meet with colleagues from your own and other departments working with EGR to align and plan continuous improvements for engines in different phases. You may need to review and update EGR requirement specifications for our sub-suppliers or suggest changes to our engine design. As the go-to person for future development of EGR, you will collect ideas, evaluate them and organize the development roadmap.

Some travel is to be expected in this role, but not more than 30 days per year. This includes visits to component suppliers mainly in Europe and Asia, and project development activities often validated on test beds at our licensees located in East Asia.

Are a dedicated and curious team player with a positive mindset and relevant skills such as:

• Relevant engineering background or equivalent education.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience with EGR systems or wet exhaust scrubbers.
• Strong technical expertise and proficient technical communication abilities.
• Experience with project management in an R&D environment, or eagerness to develop it.

Experience with and interest in the other technologies within the department is considered a benefit.

With you, we are a team of 9 colleagues with various fields of specialization. We focus both on further development of current solutions and innovation/research into future possibilities. The team is responsible for NOx emission reduction technologies like SCR and EGR, as well as waste heat recovery, carbon capture, fuel supply systems and other technologies related to the engine. All work is carried out in close collaboration with other departments within the organization.
