FOSS Analytical A/S is looking for a talented and highly skilled engineer or physicist with a strong background in fluidics and/or optical detection technology to drive the development of our future bioanalysis solutions for food analysis.
This is an exciting opportunity, as you will have a significant influence on FOSS’ future innovation opportunities. In a global world with a growing population, there is an ever-increasing demand for safer food and less food waste. Our solutions provide accurate measurements and analytics insights to optimize food production from raw materials to finished products, and ultimately a better global usage of limited resources.
Primary tasks
Your responsibility will be to develop and implement current and future optical hardware platforms for bioanalysis, such as flow cytometry - taking the technology from the lab environment to full-scale production. Further, you will play a key role in the system integration phase, defining flow sequences and verifying critical flow system components. The responsibility includes the technical overview of the complete system from sample intake to the final result of the measurement, and the interfaces to the rest of the instrument. A key to succeeding is the ability to plan, coordinate and communicate results to the project members and stakeholders.
Your tasks will span a wide variety of tasks, ranging from early-phase experimental work to help troubleshooting during the transfer to production phase. This is done in close collaboration with data scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, software developers, and other departments outside R&D.
Your daily work will be at the FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød, Denmark.
About you
You have a M.Sc. degree in engineering, physics or similar and most likely a Ph.D. You have proven results working with fluidics and optical detection systems, and preferably experience with several of the following topics:
As a person you are structured and self-driven when part of a strong team. You are curious about new problems and thrive on solving difficult tasks. Your record of accomplishments shows an ability to understand complex systems and to work systematically with troubleshooting incl. designing and performing experiments. Further, you are open-minded and want to succeed as a team and help your colleagues. If you recognize yourself in the above description, we look forward to hearing from you.
We offer
We offer a motivating job in an international, dynamic, and innovative organization. We are market leaders within our field and very proud of the results we deliver. Innovation is the foundation for FOSS´ success and we therefore have a strong focus on R&D. FOSS is small enough for you to get high influence in the job, and big enough for career development. The daily work takes place in an innovative and cross-disciplinary environment offering exciting tasks and the possibility to learn new things every day.
You will be become part of the Bioanalysis and FTIR team in the Technology department of R&D. The team is responsible for innovation, development and support of the measuring systems of FOSS’ product based on flow cytometry and FT-IR. Together, the teams in Technology hold a high level of experience and competence within optics, physics, electronics, biochemistry and microbiology. We strive to deliver solutions performing to the edge the technology with world leading relation between performance, cost, footprint and reliability . We are open-minded to new ideas and have an informal working culture.
