Research and Development in Cigarette Filter Recycling

The Role:

I am seeking a passionate and driven individual to join FiltraCare as a co-founder. You will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions for recycling cigarette filters, focusing on research, development, and testing. As FiltraCare is still a young startup, you will play a crucial role in shaping the direction and future of the company from the ground up.

This role is perfect for someone who is excited by the opportunity to build something new, tackle significant environmental challenges, and work hands-on in a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilties:

• Take the lead in researching and developing innovative methods to recycle cigarette filters.

• Help develop pilot projects to collect and process cigarette filters at scale.

• Assist with the operational side of the business, from logistics and collection systems to collaborating with potential customers.

• Play an active role in shaping the future strategy and vision of FiltraCare, including the long-term goal of bringing recycling in-house.

• A background in environmental science, materials science, engineering, or a related field.

• Hands-on, entrepreneurial spirit: You’re excited about the idea of joining an early-stage startup and are comfortable wearing many hats, from researcher to strategist.

• A creative, problem-solving mindset with a drive to innovate and find solutions to tough challenges.

• You thrive in a collaborative but fast-paced environment, where things change often.

About FiltraCare’s Early Journey FiltraCare is just over a year old and still in the early development phase. So far, we've built the framework for a pilot project to test the collection and recycling of cigarette filters in collaboration with local businesses in Næstved. I’ve secured a temporary recycling partner in France, but the long-term goal is to develop our own in-house recycling process. This is where you come in.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of this technology, ensuring we not only collect but also recycle filters in a sustainable and scalable way. Together, we’ll work on scaling operations and turning FiltraCare into a key player in the circular economy.

Note:

At this early stage, FiltraCare is not yet in a position to offer a salary. However, I am actively working on securing funding, and the goal is to ensure financial support for co-founders as we grow.
