The Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences calls for applications for a position as a
research assistant from 1 May 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position as research assistant is a fixed-term scientific position of 6 months.
Are you interested in the health and welfare of livestock? If you have robust hands-on experience with immunological laboratory techniques and experience with troubleshooting, optimization of laboratory protocols and generation of data, we can offer a challenging job in a dynamic research environment.
The successful applicant will be placed in the research unit
Gut and Host Health.
Tasks- Transcriptome analysis of relevant immunological genes in samples from existing biobank
- Molecular genotyping and determination of tissue type in blood samples
- Functional immunological assays and cell culturing
- Analysis of “systems immunology” datasets (flow cytometry)
- Contribute to carrying out animal experiments
- Contribute to publications and other relevant communication
Qualifications- Relevant university master's degree
- Good theoretical background in immunology
- Robust experience with immunological laboratory techniques and data analysis (qPCR/PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry etc.)
- Robust experience in scientific publication
- Skills and interest in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Skills and interest in research with continuation in a possible PhD degree programme
