Weibel Scientific is the world’s leading manufacturer of highly advanced instrumentation radars for testing and measuring airborne objects. The radars are used at military proving grounds for development and verification of weapon systems and munitions and in the space industry for range safety and space situational awareness. We develop and manufacture all systems inhouse at our headquarter in Allerød, Denmark and 99 percent of the company’s products are exported.

Weibel is looking for a Sales Director to join our existing group of regional Sales Directors. If you have experience from technical product sales, project sales, engineering, business-to-business or business-to-government; and consider yourself to be, or have the potential to become, a strong technical marketeer, then you may be what we are looking for.

Weibel’s instrumentation radars are widely recognized as being in a class of its own and Weibel is by far the global market leader within the industry. We have achieved strong growth every year for the last decade and are committed to stay ahead of competition through continuous development of new models, features and performance characteristics, making Weibel’s radars a safe bet for its loyal customer base.

Sales of instrumentation radars is challenging due to the advanced technology and complexity of the product. The business is international, long-cycle, technology-driven and most often transactions are multi-million dollars. It is a heavyweight business and to succeed in the role as Sales Director you must have a good technical understanding while at the same time having a commercial mindset. A successful Sales Director will typically have an engineering background from a radar-relevant domain such as microwave, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or processing software.

 

Your role and responsibilities

As Sales Director – Instrumentation, you will join a team focusing on taking our instrumentation radars to the market. You will focus on B2G and B2B sales of Weibel’s solutions to proving grounds, system integrators, and space organisations. You will work independently with responsibility of your own designated countries and accounts, but have close collaboration with Weibel’s other Sales Directors, System Engineers, Market Management, Bid Management, Project Management, Legal, etc.

Main responsibilities will be:

  • Creating and maintaining a portfolio of relevant leads
  • Opportunity ownership from lead to contract
  • Direct sales of the product portfolio
  • Channel management of representatives and system integrators
  • Tendering and contract negotiation
  • Account Management
  • Participation at trade shows and expos

The position does not include direct reports.

You should expect to travel around 40-50 days per year.

 

Your qualifications and background

We will consider candidates that are seasoned sales and business development veterans as well as new promising hopes. The most important aspect for us is that you and we believe that you can raise to the challenge.

  • You are excellent in keeping the overview and shaping requirements to ensure successful sales.

The position will require that you can obtain a NATO Secret security clearance in Denmark.

Our HQ is at Allerød – north of Copenhagen, Denmark, and we expect that you work onsite at our HQ when you are not travelling.

 

Language

  • English at negotiation level is a must (spoken and written).
  • Danish is an advantage but not a requirement.
