The Niels Bohr Institute at Faculty of Science, the University of Copenhagen is looking for a Student Assistant with effect from 1 April 2025.
About us X-ray and Neutron Science
Our research is centred around the use of large-scale experimental facilities using X-rays and neutrons, including the new X-ray source MAX-IV and the coming neutron source ESS, located in Lund (S), but also home-lab facilities. With these sources, we study a wide range of hard, soft, and biological materials.
Our section is a part of Condensed Matter Physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen. We are located in Copenhagen and offer creative, stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment.
Tasks The position is related to our engagement in DanScatt, the organization that covers the X-ray and neutron related research topics in all of Denmark. Within DanScatt, it is our task to keep track of the X-ray and neutron community by the use of bibliometry.
Your task will include
- In a team of 3 students, to search for X-ray and neutron related publications with Danish authors
- Categorising these publications in a database
- Use the publication results to track the user community
- Performing appropriate statistical presentation of the results in a series of annual reports
We expect - Active student at an education on bachelor or master level, preferable within science or engineering
- IT competences including the use of Excel
- A flair for systematics and time management
- A flair for collaboration and teamwork

Terms of salary and employment You will be employed as an hourly paid student in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Organizations of Public Employees - governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and under the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT-officers in the state in the state (HK/Stat). It is a condition for the employment that you are an active student enrolled at an institution of higher education. The employment is limited to a maximum of 6 years.
