Script Ninja for Python scripts – Student Worker

In recent years, there has been a significant focus on reducing the environmental impact of engines and increasing the flexibility of engine control through digitalization. You will play a key role in this latter aspect.

You will play an important role
We are looking for a highly committed student assistant to join our groups responsible for designing solutions for the electronic control of our engines. Your mission is to make the day-to-day life more efficient for our control engineers in these groups by using all the ninja tricks up your sleeve to develop some kickass scripts.

More specifically you will:

• Write scripts for automating various processes (Python)
• Handle scripts for automatic software tests (Python)
• Develop scripts for automatic software updates of physical test systems (Python)
• Further develop various helper tools for data processing and plotting (Python)
• Maintain and further develop build server setups and scripts (Jenkins)
• Make minor adjustments in application code and simulation environments (embedded C++)

We imagine that you.

• Are a computer science student or similar with at least 2 years left in your studies.
• Are among the top of your class.
• Have a good understanding of Python script programming – preferably also involving GUIs.
• Are self-driven, have an analytical approach, and the ability to create good long-term solutions.
• Enjoy social interaction and collaboration with colleagues.
• Possess a high level of English proficiency, both written and spoken

It would be an additional advantage if you:

• Have programming experience in one or more of the following
  • C++
  • MATLAB
  • Jenkins
• Are interested in mechanics/electronics/engines, especially within the maritime sector.

You will become part of the Automation & Control department. This department is responsible for delivering the software that controls the world's largest two-stroke engines and consists of about 40 highly engaged engineers. We are divided into smaller groups, and you will join the TOOLS team. A cornerstone of the team's methodology is transparency and the belief that multiple heads think better than one. This is reflected in our frequent discussions about our tasks. We make an effort to present tasks clearly and are open to input from others.
