Our Data Department, which is part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation's Impact Area is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. We aim to deliver high-quality data and advanced data-based solutions that align with the Foundation’s strategy and key objectives. The goal is to create data driven insights across the entire value chain of the Foundation. The responsibility of the whole Impact Area is to evaluate the impact of the Foundation’s initiatives and monitor our progress toward strategic targets.
The Impact Area consists of 17 highly skilled and dedicated colleagues, including seven members in the Data Department, seven members in the Evaluation and Analysis Team, and a Senior Vice President. The Job
As a Senior Data Engineer, you are expected to initiate and lead projects that have a long-lasting effect within the organization, e.g., Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for key stakeholders. In addition to your value creation, you will be a mentor and guide for younger colleagues in best practice within the field of data engineering. A long side the development of BI solutions, designing and implementing data pipelines to assess Novo Nordisk Foundation’s grant impact will be among your tasks. As the Data Department is still in the start-up phase, you are also expected, in addition to your technical contribution, to help set the direction for the data platform and the way of working for the team. Furthermore, you will, in collaboration with colleagues in the Impact Area, handle data processing and analysis to provide insight and knowledge to the organisation.

Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for someone with more than 8 years of experience in data management or data engineering. Our ideal candidate holds an M.Sc. and/or Ph.D. in a relevant field and combining project lead skills with deep technical expertise. You should have solid experience with running data engineering projects independently while also being an expert in data transformation/ETL, Python, SQL, and Azure tools like Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, furthermore we expect you to be familiar with Jupyter Notebook or R Studio, and finally possess:
