We are looking for a driven Senior Data Engineer to join our early team at Subsets as we build the future of AI-driven Retention Automation for CRM. As one of the early team members, you will play a crucial role in the company, developing data infrastructure and scalable pipelines and directly shaping our product. You will collaborate with our software engineers and data scientists to build a scalable data infrastructure that powers our AI-driven platform.
Subsets redefines how subscription media companies engage their customers through intelligent retention initiatives. Unlike traditional, one-size-fits-all approaches, our platform helps commercial CRM and Lifecycle Marketing teams create personalized engagement journeys that increase subscriber engagement, retention, and lifetime value. To do this, we process a LOT of data and use AI to help non-technical people utilize AI-generated retention audiences.
We are a lean team backed by leading VCs, such as Y Combinator. Our customers include some of the largest media subscription businesses in the world, such as Daily Mail, The Athletic (New York Times), Newsquest, etc. As a data engineer at Subsets, you will work directly with our customers' data and have the opportunity to shape and impact the product experience.
Work directly with the founding team and our software engineers.
Monitor and optimize our current data pipelines (we are moving a lot of data!).
Design, develop, and manage our scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Work in a lean, high-performing team where you will influence the product.
Keep up with the latest developments in the space and see how they can be applied.
A professional background in data engineering.
Hands-on experience in SQL, dbt and BigQuery, postgreSQL, or similar.
Have prior experience building ETL pipelines.
Experience working with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or similar.
Experience working with Docker, Terraform, Python, or similar technologies.
The ability to work effectively in a startup environment where things change fast and are sometimes loosely defined.
Please note that this is neither an exhaustive nor necessary list of capabilities. If none of these apply to you, but you believe you can contribute to Subsets, please reach out.
Competitive salary
A stake in Subsets' success (equity)
A flexible work environment with frequent social activities

Note: Subsets does not accept remote applications. We value flexibility but prioritize working together from our Copenhagen office most of the time.
