ACTONA GROUP A/S is looking for an experienced designer to join our Global Design & Visualization department and take part in driving and developing the future design of home furniture.
About the Job
As Senior Designer, you will play a crucial role in the influence and development of indoor furniture for the global scene. You will work closely with international and Danish colleagues from concept to production ensuring our aesthetics, brand visions and high-quality expectations are met. Furthermore, you will be part of a team delivering designs which are not only aesthetically pleasing but also commercial successes.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Design: Focus on further development and upgrading of New Product Model design within designated product categories. Main focus will be on upholstery furniture.
- Product Design Guidelines: Be a leading stakeholder in the creation and utilization of a Product Design Guideline, utilizing concepts such as Product Modulization to enable principles such as Design-for-Manufacturing, Design-for-Sustainability and cost optimization.
- System and Data Support: Provide crucial support in the efforts of updating and utilizing our systems and design data creation processes throughout the Actona Group value chain.
- 3D and renderings: Take part in maintaining and developing standardized 3D environments, light settings and software related special projects.
- Design Research and Input: Being part of or driving market research by analyzing industry trends, global market competition and market demands. Furthermore, be able to communicate the information clearly with the team.
- Ideation: Hold the ability to generate commercial Actona DNA ideas and concepts from customer briefs and converting these into simple and conceptual 3D work relatively fast.
- Project and Time Management: You must be able to work with and respect agreed deadlines on projects but also expect tasks with very short and ASAP deadlines. Furthermore, simultaneously be able to balance multiple open projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with both international and Danish colleagues, as well as other external designers to enable efficient execution of core design processes.
Who Are You?
Ambitious and self-driven designer with a strong focus on expanding and utilizing your competencies within Product Design and Visualization. You have a proven track record of successfully linking brand values and design languages with product designs and offerings delivering high market attraction and fit to customer needs and wishes.
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within architecture, furniture design, industrial design or similar and a passion for furniture design, product optimization and working with a wide variety of product categories. You are a proactive and motivated individual with a structured approach to problem-solving and a high drive to achieve results.
You are a self-starter and self-motivator with a strong drive who we can rely on. Even when the pressure is on, and things are moving fast. What We Expect From You
- Passionate Learner: Experience is key, but you must still have a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of 3D and visualization.
- Product knowledge: Some knowledge of how indoor furniture is developed, key focus points and basic construction knowledge.
- Proficiency in Tools: Intermediate to Advanced skills in Rhino 3D and Vray rendering. Basic skills in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Experience with architectural software, ZBrush and AI related software would also be of interest.
- Production Knowledge: Basic understanding of production value chains and processes within the furniture or interior business.
- Communication Skills: Good visual communication skills for presenting ideas, designs and trends.
- Problem-Solver: Structured and open-minded approach to problem-solving.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in oral and written Dansh/English.
- Personal Drive: Proactive and motivated with a strong personal drive and engagement in your work.
- Travel: 10-20 days per year. Fairs, customers, production etc.
