Senior Developer CMS Team

The core of Umbraco's product and service offerings is our open-source content management system. Built on a foundation of modern .NET and an industry-leading front-end stack based on TypeScript and web components, we provide templated and headless delivery backed by an editor and developer experience that’s been tested, used, and praised for more than 15 years in a plethora of website implementations worldwide.

Developing and supporting the CMS is a collaboration between the product and engineering team at Umbraco HQ and our community contributors all over the world. We are looking for a senior developer to join the CMS team, to help with feature development, issue resolution, and release management.

You'll be working on a mix of:

• Scoping, implementing, and releasing features that enhance the functionality of the CMS.
• Diving into issue resolution: Reproducing, investigating, and developing fixes to improve the quality of the product.
• Reviewing and collaborating on colleague and community contributions.
• Refining and operating build, test, and release pipelines.
• Liaising internally and externally with stakeholders such as the teams responsible for Umbraco's hosting platform Umbraco Cloud, the commercial add-on products, and the community package ecosystem.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.

Ideally, you'd be somewhat full-stack, with a solid background in .NET backend development and comfortable working on the front-end. Specifically, we'd look for 5 + years of experience with C# / ASP.NET and some familiarity with modern JavaScript (TypeScript, web components).

Highly desirable would be knowledge of CMSes as a whole, and especially Umbraco CMS - whether that be as a contributor to the product or experience with implementing solutions based on it.

Plus points would be given to candidates with experience of:

• Azure DevOps build and release pipelines.
• Automated testing frameworks such as Playwright.
• Consuming or creating APIs in headless setups.
• Working with Cloud providers, especially Azure.

On top of the technical skills, we’re looking for someone who collaborates with colleagues from various disciplines and shows the empathy and compassion needed to build a product with end users in mind.

• Working hours: Full-time 37 hours a week
• Preferred start date: As soon as possible
• Place of work: on-site at Umbraco HQ in Odense Denmark, or remote from where you live
