For our growing business we are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who wants to be part of a team developing tomorrows automotive and industrial network solutions based on Ethernet technology.

Comcores has been developing IP cores and digital solutions for more than a decade. The increasing market demand of complete digital solutions has increased the focus on software being an integrated part of the deliverables for the projects, we engage in.

We are serving a growing number of customers in the market for TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) Ethernet solutions in the automotive, industrial and aerospace industry. The solutions include IP cores, software, firmware, and evaluation boards that enable networks or network components for next generation networks in the automotive, industrial and aviation industry. We are working with leading customers in respective verticals, and they see us as one of the most capable suppliers for these Ethernet solutions.

We are increasing our product portfolio, and we are strengthening our team of embedded software development engineers. We are looking for a motivated and skilled colleague to fill the role as Senior Embedded Software Engineer contributing to the development of software to our upcoming Ethernet solutions.

Position Content & Responsibilities

In the position as Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the development of software to our high-performance Ethernet switch solutions. This includes system design, Linux drivers, Ethernet applications, and time synchronization, as well as components for security based on in-house MACsec solutions.  You will play a significant role in setting the direction for the future software development in Comcores.

You will also participate in the development of systems on evaluation boards, where existing and new IPs will interact with software. You will be doing design work, developing software code, creating documentation, and cooperating with our test team in creating test strategies.

You will be working closely with the rest of Comcores’ passionate R&D team to ensure alignment with existing developments as well as customers globally. When the designs are productized, you will be supporting customers to assure seamless integration in their projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Establish architecture and design specifications for new products in close cooperation with system engineering, FPGA designers, and test team
• Develop and maintain code using C, C++, Bash, and Python, while driving innovation and excellence in our projects
• Utilize Linux and Yocto to develop tailored, high-performance solutions
• Collaborate with the test team to implement continuous integration and deployment using Jenkins and Docker to ensure efficient and automated workflows
• Produce comprehensive user manuals and system documentation.

Your Background

• You hold a MSc or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Network Technology, or equivalent
• You have more than 5 years of working experience as a software developer
• You have experience with Linux and low level-programming, including Linux kernel, user space, networking, and command-line tools.
• Ideally you also have experience with development of Linux drivers
• Personally, you are a focused, systematic, and solution-oriented person that manages to transform your skills into action.
• You feel motivated by being the best within your field and like to work with the newest technologies.
• You master English in both written and verbal at a high level.
