If so, we are looking for a Senior Environmental Partner to join our Finished Product Manufacturing (FPM) Environmental Sustainability team within Novo Nordisk’s global manufacturing unit.

The position

As a Senior Environmental Partner at Novo Nordisk, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across various Novo Nordisk sites. You will serve as the essential bridge between locations, ensuring environmental standards and regulations are consistently met while helping us create a more sustainable future. Additionally, you will play a key role in setting and shaping environmental strategies, aligning them with Novo Nordisk’s long-term sustainability goals and operational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing environmental activities to ensure compliance with our Environmental Management System, driving change and creating results.
  • Developing strategic plans for current site improvements into our environmental framework.
  • Monitoring and communicating environmental performance and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Developing and implementing plans to meet Novo Nordisk’s environmental sustainability ambitions.
  • Maintaining relationships with the community, environmental groups, and key stakeholders impacted by the organization’s environmental performance.
  • Steering cross-site projects and programs, ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives.

This job is currently based in Gentofte, Denmark, but will relocate to Høje Taastrup, Denmark later this year.

 

Qualifications

As a person, your time management skills are commendable, and you approach your work with a structured mindset, allowing you to maintain a comprehensive overview and successfully complete tasks even during busier periods. Adapting to shifting priorities comes naturally to you, and you proactively seek advice and guidance on more complex issues.

To succeed in this role, you have to:

  • An MSc degree in environmental engineering, sustainable master program, environmental science, or other relevant education.
  • Min. 5-7 years of experience working with complex processes from a similar position.
  • Excellent stakeholder and project management skills.
  • Great communication skills and ability to work with various personalities and nationalities.
  • Fluency in English; written and spoken communication skills in Danish are considered an advantage.

Moreover, you possess a strong background in structured work processes and hands-on experience in facilitation. You are skilled at utilizing new technologies, which enhances your effectiveness in various roles. In addition to these core competencies, it would be advantageous to have knowledge of ISO 14001, as well as internal insights from Novo Nordisk processes related to environmental management or integration work. Expertise in ESG/CSRD data and reporting, water, and biodiversity/nature is also highly desirable. Additionally, experience in working with diverse cultures and varying levels of organizational maturity would be a significant asset.

 

About the department

Business Development & Support (BD&S) in Finished Product Manufacturing (FPM) is the team that supports our global production sites with central functions such as Finance, Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy, Sustainability & Operational Excellence, and Digitalisation & Performance Management. Based in Gentofte we have more than 50 employees who, as partners and specialists, collaborate with our colleagues worldwide to produce medicine for people living with serious chronic diseases. We have a comprehensive overview ensuring efficient and reliable support of the FPM organisation and are committed to driving change by identifying hidden potential and anticipating opportunities and challenges before they escalate.

Finished Product Manufacturing (FPM) is part of Novo Nordisk Product Supply, a global production network at the forefront of technology and quality production of pharmaceutical products. At FPM, we not only manufacture all finished products for people living with serious chronic diseases, but we also use our competencies to drive technology leadership and improve standards across our core technologies to support the growing efforts into completely new production platforms and therapy areas for Novo Nordisk.  

Our global network consists of around 6,000 colleagues across 10 countries. Here, we are responsible for the manufacturing of all finished products, including devices, needles, assembly, and packaging. As more and more people need our products, we support Novo Nordisk's initiatives in new therapy areas. Every day, we strive to streamline and expand our capacity through process innovation, automation, and the introduction of new technology.
