The position
The Senior M&A Financial Advisor is a newly created role, where the main responsibility is to provide the accounting/financial input associated with acquisitions. Your main task is to:
Drive the financial due diligence process in partnership with advisors and in alignment with other stakeholders
Assess the accounting treatment of the acquired companies
Endorse and provide input to the financial modelling based on due diligence findings etc.
Drive the preparation of PPA and audit documentation in line with applicable accounting standards
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure proper handover to the integration teams
This is a great opportunity to develop best practice tools and processes for accounting and consolidation of future business acquisitions.
You will work closely with core team stakeholders from Business Finance, Tax, Legal and Business Development.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
5-6 years of experience working on buyer side in acquisition of businesses, either in an acquiring company, or as a M&A Consultant from consultancy/audit firms
Strong accounting acumen, and proficiency in IFRS 3 and IFRS 13
Optimally, experience from valuation of businesses and PPA’s
Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry would be a benefit but is not mandatory
On a personal level, you are driven and have a proactive approach towards your work, while excelling at interacting with senior stakeholders and managing relationships. Furthermore, we expect you to possess a business development mindset and be hands-on in your approach, ensuring that you can drive initiatives forward and contribute to the organization's success.
About the department
The M&A Accounting team is part of the broader department “Consolidated Reporting “. The Consolidated Reporting department consists of around 30 professionals in 5 teams, boasting a vibrant diversity and dynamic environment. Besides M&A Accounting, the area is also in charge of Consolidation, ESG- and Financial Reporting as well as Internal controls. As a Senior M&A Financial Advisor, you will be reporting to the Head of M&A accounting.
