The Position
As Senior Manager for our Cartridge Team, you will be the first-line manager responsible for leading and facilitating the design control team to ensure the quality of Novo Nordisk’s marketed cartridge-based device platforms. The team oversees lifecycle management within the design control processes.
You will lead a well-functioning and highly skilled team of 16 design control specialists and mechanical engineers, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and contrib-ute to the management team. The team is preparing for the planned scale-up of the mar-keted cartridge-based device platforms, and you will play a crucial role in aligning priori-ties, leveraging team competencies, and ensuring readiness for future needs.
The team is organized into two self-driven groups led by a product platform lead (design control system engineering) and a mechanical lead (mechanical engineering). As part of the management team, you will contribute strategically to our exciting journey to scale production globally. Collaboration, mutual support, and sharing are essential for the man-agement team to achieve high performance.
Your key responsibilities are to:
- Lead a team of 16 design control experts with diverse professional backgrounds as their first-line manager.
- Develop the team and its members to align with organizational needs.
- Foster a culture of optimizing design control documentation for cartridge-based devices to ensure sustainability in product quality and team competencies.
- Strategically prepare the team to support increased demand for operations during future capacity expansions of marketed cartridge-based devices.
- Cultivate and strengthen team culture in Device Development and the Cartridge & Needle Teams.
To succeed in this role, you must lead design control experts, facilitate individual and team development, and enhance team processes to support production expansion while main-taining product quality. You will empower talented experts while also fostering individual growth, set strategic direction, and ensure design control processes evolve to meet organ-izational needs.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should have:
- A Master’s degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering (e.g., Engineering, Pharma, Chem-istry, or a related field).
- Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of developing and managing high-performing teams, along with expertise in design controls, lifecycle management pro-cesses, operations, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance.
- Proven ability to develop and implement robust design control processes that support effective training, team performance, and product quality.
- Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, particularly in design con-trol, device development, production, or production scale-up.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present, engage, and maintain a transparent dialogue with stakeholders and your team in both Danish and English, written and verbal.

About the Department
You will join a vital department responsible for Novo Nordisk’s marketed cartridge-based devices, continuously preparing for future capacity expansions. You will collaborate with stakeholders, highly skilled professionals, and various areas across the organization.
Device Development (DD), part of Finished Product MSAT, holds design responsibility for Novo Nordisk’s medical devices and delivery systems, acting as the link between Devel-opment and Production.
In Device Development, our primary focus is introducing new Novo Nordisk products to market while continuing to develop variants of marketed device and product platforms. Our deliverables directly impact market entry, capability, and ongoing product availability.
You will join the Cartridge & Needle Team, comprising 27 design control experts and me-chanical engineers. The Cartridge Team is responsible for the marketed cartridge-based products and platforms, continuously preparing for future capacity expansions.
