Become part of our District Energy department in Aarhus. We are looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer or Senior Project Manager to join our team of around 90 dedicated district energy professionals, including experts, specialists, and project managers. We are market leaders within district heating and cooling, biomass, energy planning, and energy optimization experts, we focus on green transition and sustainability, delivering end-to-end solutions from planning and design to implementation and optimization. With high activity in Denmark and increasing demand internationally, we are currently undertaking large-scale electrified heat production projects, such as heat pumps, electrical boilers, and thermal energy storage systems. Within distribution networks you will be responsible for designing heat exchanger stations and substations with booster pumps. Notable projects include Assens District Heating’s biomass expansion with solar and heat pumps and Europe’s largest district cooling system in Kalundborg. You will be included in the early proposal phase and will follow the project from the start and oversee the design, engineering, tender specifications, tendering and contraction, construction management and supervision, establishing yourself as a primary contact in your area while contributing to some of Denmark’s most innovative energy initiatives. In your daily work, you will:
Create effective mechanical solutions for a wide range of district heating and cooling production energy systems, transmission, and distribution facilities, such as heat exchanger - and pump stations. Provide professional consultancy in a variety of different energy projects. Collaborate across COWI's organization work on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to ensuring efficient project deliveries. Carry out mechanical tasks from the idea phase, preparation of specifications, design, and tendering to commissioning.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineer or similar. Minimum 8-10 years of experience with mechanical tasks and 5 years of experience in district heating. Preferably experience as a consultant or contractor. Proficiency in Danish and English, both verbally and written. Good communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
