Grab this opportunity to set the frame for ALD Automotive’s 2nd Line of Defence: The Operational Risk Center of Expertise. Operational Risks, Risk Management, Internal Controls and People Management are the key words in the position as Senior Operational Risk Manager.

“… The Operational Risk Center of Expertise is the linking pin between the central and the local risk management function.,” says Solja Sedbom-Salminen, Risk & Compliance Director (FIN).

The position is located in either Taastrup, Denmark or Vantaa, Finland - location depends on the candidate.

People management and high-quality deliverables await

As our new Senior Operational Risk Manager, you will enable that the team reflects as a true Center of Expertise by reaching goals for the Operational Risk LOD2 activities. The areas of expertise include:

Operational risks: Assess, quantify, challenge, and monitor operational risks, train the organization on the management of risks and advice on policies and actions related to each operational risk type.

Internal Controls framework: Bringing our Internal Control Framework with respect to operational risk management to a next level, driving process and control improvements, bringing risks within appetite.

Internal Control awareness: Proposing solutions/improvements and initiating Control Framework related actions and provide input for training to embed across ALD.

Process improvements: Proposing solutions/improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.

The team assess and report all operational- and business risks to enable the Senior Management to monitor their overall risk profile.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Coaching, supporting, and delegating a team of two Operational Risk Managers/Specialists
  • Overseeing and supporting the adaptation of the central policies and procedures to local regulation and monitor the implementation of ALD’s Operational Risk framework locally
  • Collaborating with all relevant stakeholders involved in the control and monitoring of the operational risks
  • Oversee reporting and ensuring meeting of deadlines to the Central-based Operational Risk Team
  • Challenging and guiding relevant stakeholders on topics related to operational risks to create awareness and a sense of responsibility for risk owners in the business

 

An experienced Operational risk professional

You are a people person with strong communication skills that makes you adequate to communicate across various levels within the Group. You are an excellent analyst and critical thinker with a strong drive to identify solutions.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have experience with the full scope of risk management practices and techniques including experience in the development and implementation of risk policies.
  • Bring a master’s or bachelor’s degree in e.g. business or technology/finance related field
  • Have knowledge about Operational risks including a very good understanding of current requirements in Operational risks management and governance.
  • Have the capacity to build a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork.
  • Speak and write at least one of the Scandinavian languages. Professional in oral and written English is a must.
