Senior Project Manager for R&ED CAPEX Construction Projects (based out of Oxford in `25 and `26)

The Position 

As a Senior Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to drive CAPEX investment projects such as laboratories, research facilities, and offices, from their early development stages, through construction and to handover.  

While you will join the team and onboard in Denmark, your first assignment will be on an exciting project in UK, Oxford. This will imply that during 2025 and 2026 the role will be based out of Oxford. 

Your key tasks will include: 

• Proactively managing project cost, scope, time, risks, and business impact throughout the project lifecycle, following the Novo Nordisk way and in accordance with investment project governance. 
• Organising and leading multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure the successful completion of all project deliverables through analysis, design, and construction. 
• Effectively engaging with and navigating highly complex stakeholder landscapes, securing alignment and making clear decisions with enterprise value in mind. 
• Monitoring project progress and providing regular reports to senior management. 
• Reviewing and providing input to legal contracts such as leasing, construction, and design 

Qualifications 

You have a proven track record of leading and delivering complex cross-functional (and possibly global) projects through development and construction. Preferably, you have experience from pharma or other regulated industries (food science, life science, or energy industry). 

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have: 

• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or any other relevant field. 
• Experience in construction or interior fit out of a core and shell of a leased area. Experience in building laboratories is an advantage. 
• Experience with steering of project design and process (RIBA is an advantage). 
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including at the senior leadership level. 
• Strong knowledge of project methodologies, tools, and techniques. 
• Experience with lease agreements is an advantage. 
• Proficiency in the English language. 

On a personal level, you are proactive, self-driven, and excel at driving projects within highly complex stakeholder set-ups. You offer adept advisory and influencing skills at senior leadership levels, guiding projects to success despite conflicting interests. You have excellent negotiation and communication skills and the ability to lead through crisis and high-pressure situations. 

About the Department 

R&ED Investments is a team consisting of experienced Project Managers, as well as Portfolio Management and back-office functions. We enable science by leading professionalised development and execution of CAPEX projects (e.g., laboratories, research facilities, offices) & optimising the value/risk of investments at project and portfolio levels. Our Project Managers specialise in a variety of project types, including construction, automation, and digital projects. Our team serves across all lines of business areas. We lead projects globally, including across Denmark, US, UK, and China.
