(Senior) Scientific Publication Manager

We are seeking a (Senior) Scientific Publications Manager, who will lead the planning and execution of scientific publications, ensuring compliance with guidelines. Excellent project management skills are essential, as well as the ability to handle varied tasks and establish processes in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment. 

The position 

A (Senior) Scientific Publications Manager will be driving the development of publications for Novo Nordisk sponsored data. 

Your main responsibilities will include:  

• Day-to-day, as well as strategic project management 
• Develop publication strategies/publication charters and publication plans for compounds in clinical development 
• Interactions and collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the global organisation and health care professionals seeking alignment to progress the plans and/or publications  
• Drive the development of scientific publications according to the publication plan this incl. abstracts, poster/oral presentations, manuscripts and review articles 
• Guide the organisation to ensure both internal and external adherence to ethical and transparency standards and guidelines within Good Publication Practice 
• Create and maintain budgets incl. vendor interaction/feedback, budget forecasting and follow up 
• Interact on behalf of Novo Nordisk in a compliant manner with health care professionals  

For this role, success depends on aligning multiple functions, managing and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders, having a flair for structured communication and guidance; and driving multiple deliverables simultaneously while maintaining an overview of the project.  

It will be expected to travel around 10-15% per year primarily to scientific congresses. 

Qualifications 

To be a relevant candidate, we expect you to have: 

• A relevant master’s degree as a minimum. PhD or higher education will be considered 
• Project management experience (proven ability to manage multiple tasks with successful outcomes (i.e. ability to prioritise). Previous experience with leading governance bodies is an asset  
• Scientific communications experience from pharma, academia, publishing, medical communications agency or similar is an asset 
• An understanding of how to create and maintain budgets 
• Change ready to quickly adapt to new situations in a continuously developing environment 
• An interest in the ethics of scientific communication and good publication practise. To be a certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) is an asset 

As a professional, it is a pre-requisite you can communicate without effort in English ( (both verbal and in writing), facilitating conversations and decisions with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you have a forward-thinking and innovative attitude to help develop and improve processes.  

About the department 

The Scientific Publications Department, part of Global Medical Affairs at Novo Nordisk, is anchored in the Development Organisation in Novo Nordisk. Our department oversees publishing research across all drug development phases and is led by the Scientific Publications Director, and divided into two teams. We seek a publication professional to join the Diabetes, Cardiovascular, and Alzheimer's Disease publications team. The role is office based at Site Søborg, Denmark, with some flexibility to work from your Denmark based home-office
