The National Food Institute at DTU is looking for an ambitious project manager with a scientific background in natural science, e.g., microbiology, epidemiology to manage activities within ‘EU Reference Laboratory for Public Health in the field of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in bacteria (EURL-PH-AMR)’ and to ensure adherence to timelines and human resources in the project portfolio in The Research Group for Global Capacity Building (GloCaB).
The EURL-PH-AMR project start in January 2025 and will continue for the next seven years; thus, there is a need to strengthen staff capacity to meet the demand for project management and coordination of various project activities.
The GloCaB at the National Food Institute holds responsibilities as a reference laboratory for antimicrobial resistance for EU, WHO, and FAO, which include being involved in international collaborative projects conducting capacity building in several countries. The portfolio of projects are constantly changing and there is a need for a coordination between the projects.
The job
A vital part of the job is managing the EURL-PH-AMR project and keeping track of deliverables and milestones. Specifically, the responsibilities will include organising External Quality Assessment (EQA) schemes directed to national, regional and local microbiology laboratories, organising workshops and other activities, meetings, support the partner teams and stakeholders, monitoring progress and risks, reporting progress incl. financial status to partners as well as to Contracting Authority and other stakeholders. The tasks will be supported by colleagues in relation to management, coordination and training.
The second part of the job is supporting the GloCaB management by participating in the coordination of group activities, allocation of human resources and timelines of the project portfolio in the group.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. You are employed as a Senior Scientific Officer. Working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is a permanent employment, starting on 16 March 2025.
