In the role as Site Services Technician Lead, you will oversee and manage the Site Services team tasked with installation, issue resolution, and decommissioning of IT equipment and related infrastructure. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to guide a team while ensuring the highest standards of operation and safety, in accordance with all relevant policies. The Site Services Technician Lead will coordinate with T5 and Client stakeholders daily, handle complex technical tasks, and ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.
Moreover, a large part of your time will be spent on:
• Ensure good relations and close collaboration between the teams.
• Manage Break/Fix incidents, ensuring timely resolution within established service level agreements (SLAs), escalating complex issues were appropriate.
• Lead the T5 Site Services team to best practices when using relevant IT platforms
• Handle storage media and ensure appropriate protocols are followed.
• Provide remote hands support and offer smart hands problem-solving.
• Oversee daily inspections of the data hall and maintain records of all findings.
• Ensure all operational changes are updated in applicable tools and systems.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, vendors, and third-party engineers, ensuring compliance with data center rules and safety regulations.
• Ensure adherence to safety laws, corporate policies, and procedures, acting as a safety champion within the team.
This role requires a proactive leader who is technically adept, organized, and capable of managing both day-to-day operations and larger projects in a high-demand data center environment.
Proven experience in a data center environment with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, equipment installation, and cabling standards.
Leadership experience in managing technical teams.
Extensive experience with rack-mountable IT equipment, including Cisco, HP, and Dell.
Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in hands-on IT hardware issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and volunteer readily when asked
Able to handle changing needs and priorities accurately and professionally
Able to work proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools
Strong customer service skills, able to work with different personalities and individuals
Exceptional listening skills
