Software Engineer Advocacy

Electricity Maps’ Advocacy team envisions a world where all humans understand the reality of electricity emissions. We are seeking a Software Engineer inspired to use their skills to build user-centric solutions that inform the energy transition and enable our users to take climate action.

About you:

• Have at least 3 years experience working with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Are proficient in frontend technologies like React and enthusiastic about staying current with advancements in the JavaScript ecosystem.
• Care about building products that are robust, scaleable and easy to use.
• Are detail-oriented, organized, and are motivated to manage your own work
• Enjoy working in a collaborative and iterative development environment.
• Thrive in an environment that provides autonomy, that supports your individual growth with interesting tasks.
• Possess a pragmatic and honest communication style, whether in person or asynchronously through platforms like GitHub, Linear, and Slack.
• Work well in an autonomous cross-functional team.
• Motivated to help build user-centric products that inform the energy transition.

Nice to haves:

• Python experience.
• Open source projects / contributions (Check out our Github here).
• Have experience deploying and maintaining products in cloud environments (e.g. Google Cloud, Cloudflare).
• Previous experience in the energy sector or an interest in understanding electricity data.
• A diverse background, feel free to share the experience that makes you unique.

How you’ll contribute to our mission:

• Build and maintain user-centric experiences across our web and mobile apps.
• Collaborate with our open source community and publish open data on our data portal
• Shape, implement and deploy novel solutions to communicate electricity data.
• Promote optimisation, testing, and tooling to make our products accessible, robust, and scalable.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and community experts to uphold the trustworthiness of our app.

The salary for this exciting role is DKK 48500 gross per month
