The Section of Disease Dynamics and Forecasting, Department of Epidemiology Research, Statens Serum Institut, invites applications for a 3-year position as Statistician or Data Scientist on the topic of the burden of antimicrobial resistance.
Job content
We are seeking a candidate with expertise in handling large databases and performing statistical analyses for epidemiological studies. The position is opened in the framework of Statens Serum Institute’s research on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). AMR is considered one of the top 10 global public health threats according to WHO.
The candidate will join our section of Disease Dynamics and Forecasting, and work within the project AMR bloodstream infections, which is funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. In particular, the project will use national microbiological surveillance data (“MiBa”), whole genome sequencing data (WGS), and registers to analyze and describe the clinical consequences of AMR and blood stream infections such as excess mortality and hospitalizations. The candidate will perform the data wrangling and statistical analyses in a close and cross-disciplinary collaboration with other project members to respond to the research questions on the clinical consequences of AMR and blood stream infections.

Experience with or interest in machine learning, SQL databases, Python, and health registers is an advantage

Salary and conditions of employment
Employment will be as an academic employee (akademisk medarbejder) and in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC-overenskomsten). The position is temporary for 3 years and full-time.
