Deadline: November 28th, 2024.Everyday Humanitarianism in Tanzania (EveryHumanTZ) is a joint research project being conducted by researchers from public Universities from Denmark and Tanzania aiming to explore and understand the practices of everyday humanitarianism and the attitudes that ground them. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Student Assistant to support our team’s research and administrative needs. This role involves assisting with data collection, event coordination, and general project management tasks.
Responsibilities:- Assist with data collection and literature reviews as directed by project supervisors.
- Provide logistical support for events, including scheduling, booking venues, and preparing documents.
- Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including drafting and sending emails and tracking responses.
- Perform administrative tasks such as organizing digital files, updating spreadsheets, and managing project-related documents.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentation slides based on project requirements.
- Support the use of digital tools for collaboration, including maintaining shared folders and ensuring team members have access to necessary files.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth project operations.
Required Skills and Attributes:- Familiarity with Everyday Humanitarianism, especially in the context of Tanzania; prior publications in the field are highly desirable.
- Proven experience organizing academic conferences and seminars, ideally with a track record of coordinating events both in Denmark and Tanzania.
- Advanced proficiency in Zotero for managing references and academic literature.
- Strong expertise in recording, editing, and producing multimedia content (podcasts, videos); required proficiency in tools such as Audacity and Canva.
- Experience living and working in the Global South is required; direct experience in East Africa, particularly in Tanzania, is a significant asset.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Swahili is a plus.
- Familiarity with internal systems and administrative processes at Copenhagen Business School is a strong advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Tanzania for fieldwork and event coordination throughout the Spring semester of 2025.

Salary and terms of employment:Employment will take place in accordance with the HK organizational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and Publicly Employed Organizations (OAO-S Collective Agreement).
The salary amounts to between DKK 140.57 and DKK 147.46 depending on previous employment with office employment experience and level of education. Pension is paid if there has been 9 months of prior employment in the public sector and you are over 20 years old or have previously been covered by a pension scheme as part of a previous employment. The pension contribution amounts to 15% of the pensionable salary components.
It is a requirement that you are an
active student at an institution of higher education to be employed.
