System & Technology Research Engineer for Engine Process

You will play an important role in:
In the Engine Process Development department as a System & Technology Research Engineer, your primary responsibility will be developing tools and shaping our product portfolio to help achieve our ambitious decarbonization targets. As part of a newly established team, you will be part of delivering our engine program and developing and maintaining tools and data.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Continuous development of our internal/external performance tools in close collaboration with colleagues
• Data management and processing
• Helping reshape the governance setup for engine performance
• Improving work processes through tooling

As a start, we expect a period of learning current systems and getting some knowledge of engine  performance. Relatively quickly, you will take responsibility on sub-models including data input and flows. You will be supported by colleagues sharing approaches, calculations and requirements. We encourage creativity and provide the freedom to influence content and feature implementation.

In addition, we have several enhanced internal tools supporting the organization with various engine performance data, and we take full responsibility for all variants and options, data input, calculations and user interfaces.

Are a dedicated and curious team player with relevant skills such as:

• Good analytical and collaboration skills
• Some knowledge of engine performance and modelling
• Some knowledge of programming and comfort working with databases
• Passion for analyzing and managing large-scale data and complex structures
• Excellent communication skills in English, verbally as well as in writing
• A positive mindset, enjoying sharing experiences and sustaining organizational learning

We do not expect you to be an expert in all the above skills and will be patient in building up the right competences for the right candidate. Depending on your background and knowledge of two-stroke engine performance, we expect some travel activities to understand the engines firsthand to achieve the best possible basis to fulfill your new position.

We are a newly established team of six colleagues with various fields of specialization within the R&D Process Development Department. Our main areas of responsibility include:

• Owning and developing internal/external performance tools for our engine program and order process
• Providing support for in-house performance tools
• Playing a governance role in releasing performance products
• Developing a simulation toolchain and platform for stationary and dynamic simulations related to performance and emissions
• Integrating engine performance and engine control
