Team Lead Grid Modeling & Methodology

Electricity Maps aims to become the information layer for the world’s electricity system. We’re building a new team to help us reach this ambitious vision. Your new job is to lead the Grid Modeling & Methodology team that enables Electricity Maps' to deliver the best representation of the electricity system worldwide.

About you:

• Have at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in scaling a high performing team, while also helping technical staff grow by giving constructive feedback.
• Have previously worked in the energy sector and possess strong understanding of the electrical grid.
• Are excited to engage in public forums worldwide about Electricity Maps’ methodology.
• Have a track record of delivering value through software projects.
• Have experience delivering data or Machine Learning products. 
• Are comfortable tackling both organizational and technical challenges.
• Promote team safety by leading by example in a positive manner.
• Possess a kind, honest and pragmatic communication style.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in fostering an environment of continuous learning.
• Experience mentoring early-career engineers.

What you’ll do:

• Own the team’s vision and purpose.
• Ensure that the team represents Electricity Maps’ methodology and within the broader energy ecosystem, including in the US. For example, the team may need to:
  • Attend conferences and industry events
  • Publish insights in blog posts or peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate in working groups
• Hire technical talent (e.g. engineers, data scientists, energy experts) to work in our Copenhagen office. 
• Create the environment that allows our Grid Modeling & Methodology team to fulfill its purpose.
• Recognize and develop professional and personal skills of your team members.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure the team delivers the right outcomes.
• Build and monitor metrics and KPIs that create insights about the value the team delivers.
• Contribute directly to the team's deliverables when appropriate.

The salary for this exciting role is DKK 56200 gross per month
