We are seeking two experienced and dynamic Vice Presidents (VP) to join our Investment, Engineering & Sourcing team.

About the department
Investment, Engineering & Sourcing (IES) is part of Product Supply, Quality & IT (PSQIT). We are responsible for procurement of production-related equipment, works, and services, representing a significant billion DKK spend annually. Last year we managed spend exceeding 30 billion DKK. We manage around 600 suppliers worldwide and continuously ensure a world-class supplier base that meets the high requirements of Novo Nordisk regarding quality, performance, and sustainability. We support building and expanding manufacturing capacities through close cooperation with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers.

As part of the IES team, you will be working in the headquarters with around 70 colleagues from diverse backgrounds and approximately 15 countries. We foster an innovative and open environment, where highly engaged colleagues work together to continuously improve the global Product Supply organization.

About the business area
PSQIT is a dynamic and innovative business area within Novo Nordisk, dedicated to enhancing digital capabilities and operational efficiency. PSQIT is responsible for the supply of all marketed and phase III development products. The area represents a significant part of the Novo Nordisk organization with over 35,000 employees across multiple geographies.

Excluding support functions, PSQIT is divided into eight divisions (SVP areas) covering various parts of the value chain, and the two VPs will provide services to the following areas:

• Aseptic Manufacturing – producing safe pharmaceutical products in a compliant, sustainable and scalable manner.
• Development Product Portfolio & Emerging Technologies - creating new products and exploring cutting-edge technologies.
• Finished Product Manufacturing - crafting pharmaceutical products for global distribution.
• Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients – developing, optimizing, and scaling up manufacturing processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients.
• Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling – transforms molecules into approved products.

The position
As the Vice President of Investment, Engineering & Sourcing for your respective area cluster, you will:

• Lead the overall procurement strategy and execution in the entire capex investment portfolio for your designated areas within Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization.
• Provide leadership, direction and development to the IES team for your dedicated area.
• Establish, develop, and maintain strong and valuable relationships with key decision-makers at senior management level.
• Drive, influence, and shape the project execution strategy in many capex projects with multi-billion DKK investment budgets.
• Drive the procurement strategy development and recommend strategic development options to relevant key stakeholders at Senior Vice President (SVP) levels and Governance Board.
• Lead Strategic Supplier Management activities across the supplier base for your designated areas and ensure external innovation and capacities are readily available at competitive and sustainable terms and commercials.
• Lead Procurement Management activities and ensure all relevant work packages are being tendered competitively and successfully awarded.
• Be a key member of the IES management team with shared responsibility to drive development and global scaling of the IES organization.

The role is based in the Greater Copenhagen area (Denmark). We are willing to relocate international talent.

Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced leader with over 15 years' experience in engineering sourcing, procurement, and/or supply chain management, from a manufacturing industry involving significant capex investment.

In addition, you will possess:

• A proven track record for strategic leadership, overseeing development and execution of sourcing strategies.
• Demonstrated expertise in global sourcing, procurement, and/or supply chain management, focused on manufacturing facilities or related.
• A track record of building and leading high-performing sourcing and procurement teams.
• Experience in collaborating successfully and building trust with various stakeholders across functions and organizational levels, including senior management.
• Expertise in supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations, with a focus on strategic partnerships.
• Experience leading and managing complex sourcing and procurement projects within a manufacturing context.
• Proven ability to develop and manage investment and sourcing budgets.
• An advanced degree in engineering, business or similar.
